Who we look after:

Clients of KMI and now Checkmate in the UK, are typically senior executives or partners of the world's leading International Companies such as, BP, HSBC, Deloitte Touche, Brown Forman, KPMG, Linklater, Clifford Chance, Ernst & Young, G.E.Capital Bank, and PWC to name but a few. In addition to these executives, Checkmate helps successful entrepreneurs and sportspersons who require personal attention, security, confidentiality and experience in their financial matters.

As Managing Director and one of our personal advisors Lee Green has been advising clients on financial matters for nearly 30 years. The founding partner of KMI in the early nineties, he now advises clients personally in Europe, the Middle East and now, through Checkmate in the UK. Lee also still heads up KMI's offshore operation.

KMI Services:

On our first meeting, which is completely without charge, we will give a background to how KMI is regulated and authorised . As fully independent advisors, we will explain our choice for clients of a fee based or commission based service.

Then ideally, but your choice, we will conduct an in depth fact find to enable us to fully understand your financial situation, your concerns and desires in your financial future.

From there we will proceed to consider areas that are of most importance to you.

From a long and varied experience with clients we can confirm that rarely do we see two clients with similar circumstances but areas of interest often include the following:

• Protection of existing wealth
• Investment of assets
• Future tax planning vehicles, which might involve the setting up of Trusts and Offshore Companies
• The security of dependants

Our Charter:

No advisor can be expected to be an authority on all aspects of financial matters. In the event we should need additional expertise, through contacts with experts from many of the leading accountants and law firms, some of whom are our clients, we can ensure the advice you receive is of the very highest quality, therefore, best advice. Our advice will always be completely independent with no regard to commission or incentives from product providers.

We will always act in your (the client's) best interest, striving to achieve the best in returns and security, in protection and tax efficiency. If we cannot improve on your existing arrangements we will not advise on any changes. Our service will be totally confidential within the bounds of the Financial Services regulations.

Expertise:

Expertise normally comes from two areas, qualifications and experience. Regarding the qualification, as you would expect as a principal also of our UK company Checkmate Financial Services Ltd, we have the necessary FPC credits required under the UK Financial Services legislation 2000.

However that is really much less than half the story, probably 10% if the truth were told.

Forming our company in 1992 we have been advising clients through our offshore brokerage that today boasts of clients in so many locations worldwid. From Jakarta to Moscow, Dubai to Prague, our clients come from all manner of companies including some of the worlds largest household names, HSBC, BP, Baker Hughes, Deloitte Touche, KPMG etc...

In meeting and helping the executives of these companies, we have been able to build a huge bank of experience. Many have just required simple solutions, a school fee plan for example, or a simple retirement programme, however others have been much more complex. Divorce settlements, the increasing problems of inheritance tax, bankruptcies, the loss of an expected pension (e.g. The Enron / Andersons demise) and of course, more pleasantly, receipt of a large windfall.

All these circumstances need immediate and serious consideration. However, the only way to achieve a client's confidence is from good ongoing advice and help. We believe it's only in this way that clients' trust is deserved and received. At KMI, this is at the heart of our operating philosophy.
